Firedale Samuel
My first Boxer Sam was my constant companion, with me from my Seventeenth to my Thirtieth year. We lived in a caravan at the Kennels, then with my parents and finally in our own place with the other Boxers who had joined us, and various humans who dipped in and out of our lives, but it was always me and Sam against the world. I couldn't drive and we travelled the length and breadth of the UK by bus, train and foot, and on one occasion even hitched a lift, by whatever means we were at a dog show every weekend. Whilst Sam is unrelated to any of the Boxers here today, he sparked a passion, and he could never be replaced. He paved the way for the others who have followed him. He is of course also the inspiration for my affix Sam and Co. Reproduced above Sam's first critique for Best of Breed at Fife Kennel Assoc. in October 1978 - Judge Ken Bullock.
